You know he’d want us laughing about it
Comedy, pop culture, and perhaps culture itself suffered a tragic loss over the weekend as George Carlin passed away.
I won’t go into an essay of how much I adored Carlin and how much of a genius he is because I’m sure everyone and their mother is blogging about it today. But the man was phenomenal and I have followed his career since the early 90s, so I’d feel sort of empty if I didn’t make some sort of comment about it.
In tribute, I give you 2 clips. The first is Geroge’s view on the “sanctity of life” and, I think, an illustration of why he would not want ANYONE mourning his death.
And here’s George discussing one of his more morbid fascinations and, towards the end, one of his more cosmic beliefs.
He’ll be missed, that’s for sure. And it makes me wonder…why, God, why?
Why not take Carlos Mencia instead?
